This will get some debates going the best I can remember is a toss up between two player Reg gasnier and Johnny King. King has to be one of the best finishing wingers dragons has had

Johnny Raper without a doubt.Closely followed by Billy Smith.No bias intended.Many old Dragon supporters I believe will support me on this.

But the GREATEST Dragon AND RL International, Grand Finalist big time player was the Mighty Chang. Chook second Reg the Magic third. Full stop.
Good luck to Pricey and the boyz in 2012 - there is plenty of fine RL in the Dragons post Bennett.

Changa, Billy Smith, Brian Johnson, Nathan Blacklock and in a few years time I reckon I will say Jason Nightingale.

Gee Andrew, didyou mean to leave out Ross Cale, Mark Ko'Cass , Bert Gordon and Col Bramley? Seroiusly, B Morris is a better all round winger than Nathan although the latter was a great crowd pleaser . Brian Johnson was atop player and would have made a great ist grade St George coach but he wasn't to the level of the great Dragons internationals. Chang is THE ONE and ONLY in my book,- forget about the white boots blah, he like Raper arely put in a less than 100% game. Also his international career was without peer and his last Test in Sydney when he capatined the Australian team aginst teh Poms is still more than memorable.
Looks like the Charity Shield win will give the side plenty of impetus for 2012.

Hey guys, showing my age a bit, but think there are too many dragons to pick the "best" I've seen. Top of the list though would be Billy Smith, then Raper, Gasnier, Langlands, King, Beath, Kearney, And of course, Pop Clay!!! Most recent I would pump for Nightingale.

In the time I have been watching the game the best I have seen and my all time favourite dragon was Steve Morris.The speed off the mark he had was amazing and he turned so many games for the dragons using that speed,also turned out to be a good breeder,produced a couple of handy kids!!!!

The bloke I really was fond of was Ricky Walford , I was pretty young but did see Changa and Billy loved those guys and all Dragon players.

Ricky Walford just holds a special spot for me for some reason , the great tries from the other end of the field , saving tries by chasing other wingers down what a great player he was in full flight.

The crowd loved Ricky .

Michael, Ricky was a hero in the eyes of many Dragon supporters.However not in the class of Johnny King or Eddie Lumsden. Maybe he was as popular or more so thas one Stanly Gorten or Michael Sorridimi.

I cannot split Chang and billy smith....a great double and the best by far!! The next best would have to be rod reddy / Ted goodwin / slippery morris and the great captain - mark coyne.

that is a hard one all these guys who have been mentioned are great players but as long as you pop on a red v jersey your a champion player. also i think nightingale will be remembered as one of the greats 50 years down the track.

Hi Bart, Sorridimi was one hell of a player.

Another fav was Beattie, Coyne, Potter, Johnson, Johnstone, gee I could go on but I won't lucky for you guys hey.
